In January 2016, Bryant Christanto joined the Board of AR Group, the world’s leading augmented reality (AR) based group of companies after a fifteen-year career in investing, financing and investment banking. AR Group consists of three business units, they are, AR&Co being the largest AR technology Developer Company in Asia, DÄV as One-on-One Interactive Media Placement Company, and also MindStore as AR / Virtual Reality (VR) Store Network. Serving as the President of AR Group, he advises on strategic and corporate development, capital raising, and M&A.
From 2012 – 2015, Bryant was an Executive Director in General Atlantic Fund Management Singapore (GA), a New York headquartered global growth equity firm founded in 1980 with US$20billion in assets under management. Based in the Singapore office, he was responsible for investments in ASEAN and had a sector focus in Consumer, Logistics and FinTech. In 2014, GA made an investment in Garena, South-East Asia’s largest internet company with US$200m revenues, 3,000 employees and amassed over 140m users in 2014. This investment won the VC Deal of the Year award from the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. In March 2016, Garena raised US$170m from Khazanah at a valuation of US$3.75billion. In ASEAN, Bryant also provided strategic corporate development, acquisition support and portfolio monitoring for growth companies in General Atlantic portfolio.
Prior to General Atlantic, between 2005 - 2012, Bryant was an Associate at Goldman Sachs Singapore and Vice President at Credit Suisse Indonesia – which won Best Foreign Investment Bank award from Finance Asia for over thirteen years between 1999-2013. As an investment banker, Bryant advised on over twenty cross-border transactions valued at over US$15bn for key clients such as the Government of Indonesia, PT Bank Negara Indonesia, Rajawali Group, HM Sampoerna Philip Morris, PT Trans Media, Carrefour Indonesia, KEPCO, Saratoga, Northstar, Medco, Djarum group, PT Telkomsel and others.
Previously, in 2000-2002, Bryant was an Analyst in Credit Suisse Singapore and worked in American Express during college.
Bryant adores his wife & daughters and is passionate about philanthropy and harnessing the power of media & technology to help the oppressed, defenseless and underprivileged in society. He sits on the board of Children’s Hope for the Nation Foundation, a non-profit that he co-founded focused on educational support – serving over 2,000 underprivileged children in Indonesia through (i) scholarship support, (ii) sports, music, computer, arts & English language training and (iii) nutritional & medical treatment.
He received an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management in 2004, where he was awarded an AGSM scholarship and received his undergraduate degree from Boston University in Finance and Economics, cum laude in 2000.
