After winning the Auggie awards for two years in a row, two of Slingshot units, they are, AR&Co and DÄV have been selected once again as the finalist at their respected category at the world’s largest event dedicated to AR, VR and Wearable Technology – Augmented World Expo (AWE), held in Silicon Valley, USA on the 31st – 2nd June 2017. This year’s event has attracted more than 200 well-known global technology companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Niantic, IBM, Google, Autodesk, Vuforia, ODG, and many others.

With the aim to reignite the spirit of unity in Indonesia, AR&Co. working hand in hand with Damn! I love Indonesia and Alfamart, presents the first 7 limited edition pins with the Augmented Reality (AR) content in each pin showcasing various Indonesian icons, that when combined can light up the word INDONESIA and play the song, Indonesia Raya (Indonesia’s National Anthem). AlfaPin AR application is available for download on the Google Playstore as well as the Apple Appstore. All the 7 pins will be available in more than 4,000 Alfamart stores in the Jabodetabek area.

Jeffrey Budiman being the CTO of Slingshot has been invited to present how the organization is able to develop breakthrough innovations during the Indonesia Innovation + Creativity Forum 2017 conducted by PPM Manajemen and SWA Group on 18th April 2017. At the same event that recognizes companies as winners of the Indonesia Most Creative Companies 2017, Budiman has shared the same stage with other speakers from PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Sababay Winery, and Mayora who also believe in the importance of innovations.

For more than 20 years, OCI awards, also known as Outstanding Corporate Innovator Award selection process has provided a mechanism to identify companies which create and capture value through Product and Service Innovation in New Product Development. In Indonesia, the award has been presented by PDMA Asia Pacific, together with PPM Manajemen and SWA Group. Some of its past global winners include Xerox, Starbucks Coffee, Bank of America, and BMW Group.Through months of extensive selection process, Slingshot was awarded Gold during the awarding night, and at the same time being invited to present at the PDMA Annual Conference in Chicago(USA) this upcoming November 2017.

SLINGSHOT was invited by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) to join ASEAN - JAPAN Innovation Meetup 2017 in Tokyo representing Indonesia. JETRO itself is the government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world (source: Jetro.go.jp). It was a joint event of the ASEAN - JAPAN Open Innovation Forum conducted on Friday, April 7th at Belle Salle Shibuya Garden Hall in Sumitomo Fudosan Shibuya Garden Tower.

Slingshot is one of the five Indonesian companies that have been chosen to represent the nation at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference and Festival, which runs from March 10-19 in Austin, Texas. Slingshot was selected for participation in SXSW 2017 Interactive Trade Show by BEKRAF (Indonesian Government Agency for Creative Economy) along with four other national technology leaders, they are, Go-Jek, PicMix, GDP Venture and Emtek alongside 5 Indonesian start-ups.

On the 2nd to the 4th of December 2016, AR&Co together with ASTARK held a launching event for ASTARK: FOOTBALL, the first online football mobile gaming app with Augmented Reality trading cards in Indonesia. ASTARK is a local start-up founded by Arthur Irawan, a young professional footballer from Indonesia who has played in several football clubs around the world such as Manchester United, Spain’s Espanyol B and Waasland-Beveren of Belgium.

On the 1st of June 2016, AR&Co was publicly awarded Best Campaign for its ‘Dutch Lady Flying Farm’ mobile application during the seventh and biggest Augmented World Expo (AWE). Held in Santa Clara California, otherwise known as Silicon Valley USA, AWE is the largest event dedicated to AR, VR and Wearable Technology, gathering together over 4,000 attendees and 200 speakers from all over the world.

Held on the 3rd of June 2016, IFRA (International Franchise, License & Business Concept Expo & Conference) has gathered 180 foreign and local enterprise participants, advancing it as one of the most prestigious franchise event in Indonesia. In conjunction with the grand event, Alfamart and Mindstores took the opportunity to introduce Alfamind, Indonesia’s first 3D AR-VR Store Network, for the first time to the public.

One of the many different conferences and forums that DÄV participated this year is the Asia Pacific Media Forum 2016 (APMF 2016). APMF itself is a forum that is held once every two years, where the who’s who in marketing, advertising, and media industry flock together to Bali, Indonesia to challenge old conventions and embrace new ideas that shape the future of media and consumer engagement. It is being hailed as the ideal ground to introduce new services, products, and technology; explore new possibilities and opportunities; and as the place for networking amongst the movers and shakers of Asia. Those who attend have been those who control of more than 90% of advertising media budget in Indonesia and those who make influential decisions from across the region.

In 14-15 May 2016, DÄV went to the second SLUSH Asia that was held in Tokyo Japan. With 4,000 attendees, which included 360 startups, 100 investors, 200 journalists and 70 speakers from all around the world, Slush Asia is considered as one of the largest startup and technology events held in Asia. It was truly an international event with its 400 volunteers coming from more than 38 countries. Notable speakers in attendance this year includes William Tanuwijaya, CEO and Co-Founder of Tokopedia; Nikesh Arora, President and COO of SoftBank Group Corp.; Jiang Wang, CTO of Alibaba Group; and Akie Abe, the First Lady of Japan. DÄV itself was no stranger to Slush as it participated in Slush 2015 in Helsinki, Finland,however it was the first time DÄV attended the smaller sister event in Asia.

On 21-23 April 2016 DÄV participated in WPP Stream in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. WPP Stream is lauded as Indonesia’s premier and only unconference that brings together CEOs and various rising stars from brands, media, and technology companies. In the three days the event was held they debated, discussed, and shaped ideas and opportunities on over 25 different topics such as why are the current conditions are so attractive for brand-building and what the future holds for the Indonesian technology eco-system as one of the world’s most rapidly advancing economies. 200 leaders attended this invitation-only unconference who come from companies the likes of Google, Facebook, Citibank, Indofood, L’Orèal, Codigo, Kompas, Emtek, Endemol, Twitter, Ogilvy, KLN, Coca-Cola, and GDP Venture among others.

Celebrating the new year of 2016, WIR Group held an exciting costume party on March 4 attended by all the business units. An event in conjunction with Indocomtech 2015 being one of the largest tech centric event in the capital city of Jakarta, Indonesia – ARTX 2015 introduced the concept of ‘Internet of Things’ through its smart home exhibition. The smart home pavilion accommodates several rooms to display various aspects that can be controlled with a simple push of a button. The event was a big success with 100,000 visitors and reported to various medias such as Jakarta Post, Net TV, CNN Indonesia and many others.

Singularity University is a California Benefit Corporation part university, part think-tank, part business-incubator located in Silicon Valley whose stated aim is to "educate, inspire and empower leaders to apply exponential technologies to address humanity’s grand challenges.” The likes of Stephen Hawking has been working together with the institution to go beyond such as trying to defy gravity. WIR Group has been invited to participate in one of their important events. It was founded in 2008 by Peter Diamandis, Ray Kurzweil and Salim Ismail in NASA Research Park, CA.

Another invitation on the 21st October, to speak at the session ‘VR in Marketing and Branding’: Creativity and innovation are the hallmarks of the early adopters of VR and AR who are engaging their audiences with rich immersive experiences.
